IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHERE THE LATEST WAPA IS THEN PLEASE BE PATIENT. ALL SUBSCRIBERS WILL BE CONTACTED SOON CONCERNING SOME BIG CHANGES. - ED.
Apologies
Being hit with technical difficulties this week (most
notably my phone line being down for 3 days), added to
a super-busy schedule, has resulted in the WAPA going out
today (25th August), 3 days late!
My apologies.
It's a rather short issue, but I think that's good once in
a while ;)
I would *really* appreciate contributors to the WAPA.
Take a look through this issue and look at the contents.
Could you offer anything? It doesn't matter if it's small!
I'll allow you a resource line too, and remember that
the WAPA not only goes out to 1300 subscribers but it also
goes out to writers and publishers who have ezines of at
*least* the same size.
VISUAL ARTISTS
This issue I'm making another request for visual artists
again. We need more! If you illustrate, take photographs,
or are into graphic design then send some samples in!
We need your work for calendars, posters, prints, books,
post cards, and greeting cards.
Submission guidelines at:
http://www.writers-and-publishers.com/info.html
Thank you.

MANUSCRIPTS PLEASE!
If you have a completed manuscript for a book of a
mainstream nature then send it in and we'll review it! All
manuscripts will be read though cannot be returned. Do not
submit without first reading the rules for doing so!

Publish or Epublish?
Many writers are confused about which is the best route
to publish. Of course, the answer is "it depends" ;)
The general rule of thumb is aim for the traditional
route first, the e-route second. Bob McElwain in the
featured article in the last issue touched upon the
reasons for this.
In this issue I've found an article and interview
by Claire E. White in which she talks to the very
successful Angela Adair-Hoy and M.J. Rose.
You can view the article and all the wonderful
resources at:

I am sure this will answer some questions for you,
Darren Andrews.

Inspiration, Tips and Exercises to Help You Write Well
"It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip
emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the
butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is
forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. That is
where the writer scores over his fellows: he catches the
changes of his mind on the hop."
~ Vita Sackville-West.

(+) Writing Tip
Order of Adjectives
In English, we use adjectives to give more information
about nouns and pronouns, but you can't just use them
willy-nilly. There's a special order that we're accustomed
to hearing and if you upset that order, you run the risk of
distracting your reader from your content.
The order is: Determiner, Observation, Size, Shape, Age,
Colour, Origin, Material, Qualifier ... so you'd write
about those amazing little square antique black English
wooden book stands.

A cool breeze lightly brushed her cheek as they rode along.
In the distance gulls in graceful flight cried out their
lonesome call, and for a moment, she was lost in the
serenity of it all.
They made their way down the narrow, very rough roadway,
climbing with the switchbacks to a ridgetop that crested a
thousand feet above the sea. She was in awe of the great
expanse before her. It was rugged, windblown and fogdamp.
They rollarcoasted from timbered gulch to craggy headlands
and wheeled along the brink of knife-edged cliffs where
Pacific waves exploded with thunderous eruptions of surf
and spray. The truck jerked and swayed back and forth as
they made their way along the steep hill towards the ranch
house. She could barely see the rooftop of the house
nestled in a grove of trees to the right of the roadway.
Her mind wandered back to Bayberry where she grew up. Why
had things turned out so badly? She could still remember
the sorrow in her mother’s voice and the emptiness in her
father’s eyes.

(+) Google Adsense Google is a search engine and is now generally accepted as just about the best out there (knocking Overture off the number one position according to many Internet marketers). Now it's just launched a new program called Adsense. What is it? Well, basically you allow your site to display the AdWords (the green boxed ads to the right of the screen when you look at Google search results) of their advertisers and they'll pay you according to how many people click on those ads. Some believe this revenue model could be the beginning of the demise of affiliate programs! I don't know about that, but it is very simple to put in place and that will attract a lot of users. You join Google (free) and then just insert a piece of code into your site and you're done! They deal with everything else. I'm testing it in the WAPA. I hate unrelated ads, so this will be my bugbear. If it can be overcome then I might keep them and see how they perform! Find out more here: https://www.google.com/adsense/home If you've got a good traffic site this could be a way to start getting extra revenue in a matter of minutes!
