GENERAL SUPPORT

1. HTML LINK CODE FOR YOUR ARTICLE

Here is the article html link code that can be cut and pasted straight into your website. Remember to place your document name in the ARTICLEPAGE part of the link and the category of your writing in the SUBDIRECTORY part of the link (e.g. 'writing'). All in lower case please:

2. EZINE LINK CODE FOR YOUR ARTICLE

Here is a link you might use in an ezine (it will also work for AOL-users):

3. PROMOTING THE WRITING COURSE

This section is for those who have signed up to earn revenue from their article page. If you have not yet done so then you can sign up from the Earn Money link.

There are three vehicles for promoting the course after signing up through the coded reseller link contained on the link just mentioned:

A. PROMOTE YOUR ARTICLE

This is the easiest way as Writers-and-Publishers.Com automatically does all the format and copywriting for you. Simply send as many people to your article page as possible (without spammmng of course!). For instance, if you have an ezine or website, you can link to your own article on this site. You might also place your article page link in all your bylines by adding something like "...read another great article by Jane Smith at [put your article page link here] or contact her by email at..."

B. USE THE LINK ON YOUR SITE OR IN YOUR EZINE

When you sign up to resell the writing course you will get a link (sent to you by email) that will take the format:

http://www.writeabooknow.com/welcome/writeXXXnow

(where XXX is your affiliate number, such as 111)

You can place this link on your own site or in your own ezine to offer it directly to your visitors/subscribers.

Here's some HTML code you may want to use. You can change the text to whatever you feel appropriate for your audience.

NB: Remember to replace XXX with your affiliate number!

C. ADVERTISE

You can find ways of directly or indirectly promoting the course through the methods and resources mentioned in the Writers' Marketing Toolbox.

Click here to learn about one particularly powerful and free way of advertising the course (or your website, ezine, ebook, etc!).

Steve Manning, who wrote the course, has setup a page to help you promote the course at:

http://www.writeabooknow.com/marketingtoolbox.htm

And to check your success (though you'll be notified by email on any sales made) and traffic (i.e. how many people have clicked through on your link to the course) go to:

http://writeabooknow.com/cgi-bin/checkord.cgi

In order to access the above link you will need your affiliate username and password which you will have received by email when you signed up to resell.

  1. What kind of article can I submit?

Writers-and-Publishers.Com is looking for articles in the categories listed below. Please note that 'salesletter-like' submissions are not accepted.
writing-related articles: e.g. the craft of writing itself, marketing, promotion, publishing, etc.
short stories: these should be fiction. Any appropriate genre considered.
fiction excerpts: extracts from your book/ebook/unpublished writings.
essays: a broad range, but no personal essays accepted. Must be informative and thought-provoking. 'how to' articles: a broad range, any useful articles considered.

  2. How will my article be used?

Writers-and-Publishers.Com will showcase your article on your article page and nowhere else. The title, your name and the teaser will be listed in the latest submissions on the homepage (and once in the WAPA email service). It will also be listed (by category) in the Directory of Articles. Some articles may not be archived as long as others; this is at the discretion of Writers-and-Publishers.Com. You have no gaurantee as to how long your article will remain active, and there will be no notification given of its expiration. It is anticipated that all articles will remain active for at least two months and probably a lot longer.
Site visitors wishing to link to your article may do so (1) directly (with your title link) or (2) copy an excerpt (no more than 50% of the article) of your article as a teaser (and/or use your teaser). Users must use include the byline in the latter case - and all users must inform you of the use of your material and should provide you with a courtesy issue of their publication in which your article link appears.

  3. How long should my article be?

Approximately somewhere between 500 and 2000 words.

  4. What about copyright and legal issues?

Ownership and copyright of your article remains your own; you allow only a small excerpt to be copied with the understanding that it links back to the full article. Writers-and-Publishers.Com will place the standard copyright at the end of your article. It is up to you as an author to apply for any legal registration of copyright depending upon which country you reside in. Check out this site for more about copyright and how you can protect your work.

  5. What is a byline?

Writers-and-Publishers.Com provides a standard byline for publishers to include on their site or in their ezine. It consists of your name and a text link back to your full article on your article page. View an article page for an example byline.

  6. What is the WAPA?

It is an email newsletter to which you will be added when you submit an article or directly subscribe to it. Its purpose is three-fold: (1) to announce new articles posted to the Writers-and-Publishers.Com site (including your own so you know it's accepted), (2) to advertise article requests from publishers, and (3) to announce changes and special promotions as regards the Writers' Marketing Toolbox. You may, of course, unsubscribe from it at anytime by following the instruction at the foot of any issue.

  7. What can I put in the resource box at the end of my article?

This is where your website address (if you have one) and email address will be displayed. You should provide these in the context of a short description of yourself and/or your interests. You may also include notes and references for your article and up to 7 hyperlinks which must relate to your article. This will all be displayed at the end of your article.

  8. In what format should I submit my article?

Ideally in basic HTML with each paragraph tagged with the Paragraph tag. If you don't know what that means, don't worry: Word and rich text are also acceptable! However, your work will take longer to publish if it does not come in HTML.

  9. Can I include links in my article?

You may not include any links in the article body but you may place as many as 7 in the resource box (in addition to your own email and website link). You may include reference numbers (or letters) in the body of the article which will be endnoted in your resource box.

  10. Can I post more than one article?

At the present time no, but you may ask to have an existing article replaced.
