Thank you for visiting this temporary web page. Above you will see what will be the header and opening graphics/headline for the home page of the report I am currently putting together. Hopefully this will give you some idea of the target audience and nature of the publication.

DETAILS FOR CONTRIBUTORS

I am looking for tips, success stories, and interviews on how to find clients and how to get good deals or on any other element of starting and running a copywriting business.

I am not looking for tips and information on writing copy! (though you may certainly include links and references to such).

The report will be largely going out to an audience of writers (though perhaps extending to anyone later) who are copywriting newbies or (more likely) completely uninitiated. That means keep it simple and make it jargon-free!

Here are the format specifics of what I am looking for:

1. SUCCESS STORY

Keep it down to 1000 words max (you may offer far shorter ones). Concentrate on how you got started, techniques and methods you use to find clients, strike good deals, or anything you've found that works. Again, keep away from advice on the writing of copy itself.

I'm particularly interested in copywriters who have engaged pay-per-performance as a model of payment - but don't worry if you haven't! You can still contribute. ;)

You may append a full byline/resource box.

2. TIPS

You may submit any number of short tips which will be interspersed throughout the report - these will be appended with your name and link text (domain name) to your site.

3. INTERVIEW

Here are the questions (these may well be added to/modified according to your response - and resent for completion of the interview). Please also feel free to add/delete any.

  1. Tell us a little about your copywriting business
  2. How did you get started?
  3. Do you consider yourself a great writer? [writer, not copywriter]
  4. What would you say has brought you the most success in your copywriting business?
  5. Can you share any secrets for finding clients?
  6. Can you share any secrets to making great deals on your copywriting services?
  7. How about a little advice for a writer who knows nothing about copywriting? [don't include directions to how-to-write-copy or any self-promotion, just general advice on starting that business - you can use your resource box for the self-promotion.]

Please cut and paste the text of these questions into your email client. Do remember to include a little background about yourself so I can write an intro!
